Donations and the CARES Act

The US government has made it easy for you to support your favorite non-profit with the Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act

The CARES act allows taxpayers to deduct up to $300 ($600 for a married couple) in charitable donations from their taxable income for donations made in 2020. Taxpayers will be able to claim the deduction on their tax forms next year and won’t have to go through the process of itemizing it.

An anonymous donator will also match all donations up to $20,000.

Donating to the LeMay Collections supports:

  • hosting our annual community programs benefiting 3,000+ local children

  • participating in job training programs benefiting the local workforce

  • our educational programs and providing a month of free lectures and seminars throughout February, highlighting various topics ranging from the history of the automotive industry to the evolution of radio transmitters

  • maintaining and preserving the world’s largest privately own collection of vintage/classic vehicles and American memorabilia

  • installing new collections, such as our Fine Arts Collection opening in 2018

  • welcoming 11,000+ visitors through our doors each year to enjoy and learn about the history of our collections
