Highlights

Company founded with the name “The Badger Four Wheel Drive Auto Company” in 1909 (“Badger” name dropped in 1910).

- Name changed to simply “FWD” in 1958 and was the largest producer of four wheel drive vehicles in the US.

Provenance

This 1931 FWD 5-ton was used by Bob Brown for parades. His daughter-in-law painted the pumpkin faces on the differentials making it a favorite for parades. It came from Helena, Montana, where it was a Montana DOT vehicle. It took two days in the snow to load up.
While Bob was hauling it back home, the roof blew off, he was quite lucky no one was hurt by the roof. They pushed the heavy roof off to the side of the road and continued on their way. Bob brought it to the Antique truck meet often and Harold LeMay loved to drive it around. Bob eventually sold it to Harold LeMay.
